"The Form"

There are various styles of T'ai Chi (also known as T'ai Chi Ch'uan) and all involve a set pattern of movements called a "form." The form being taught at Heartwood is the Yang style short form as developed by Cheng Man-ch'ing. Although all forms have a martial arts base, the main focus of this form is to promote physical and mental health.

My approach in teaching is to help students...

  • learn sound fundamentals and philosophy,
  • identify and experience effective movement of energy in the body, and
  • promote relaxation in all parts of the body.

Beginners and Intermediate classes are available.
